Our team
Michal Fazekaš has been working in GENNET since 2015. He graduated from the University of Economics. He gained his knowledge first in the area of financial auditing at EY and then at Fortuna, where he focused on controlling and reporting for the stock exchange. After joining GENNET, he worked as Chief Financial Officer and was appointed CEO in 2023.
David Stejskal graduated from the Faculty of Paediatrics of Charles University in Prague in 1975. After a basic paediatric practice in Jeseník, he worked from 1979 at the Department of Biology of the Faculty of General Medicine and the Genetic Department of the first University Hospital in Prague. He studied at the University of California, Los Angeles and Bartholomew’s Medical School in London. He specialises in prenatal screening for birth defects, prenatal diagnostics and molecular genetics. In 1996, he founded the GENNET Centre for Medical Genetics, which was supplemented by a Department of Reproductive Medicine in 2006. In 2016, GENNET became part of the international group of FutureLife reproductive medicine centres and the newly established GNTlabs by GENNET laboratories, which are among the largest and most modern laboratories in Europe.
Monika Koudová is the expert director of the laboratories at GNTlabs by GENNET and is the head physician of the genetics programme. She has specialised competence in the field of Medical Genetics, where she is one of the leading experts in the field of clinical-genetic counselling and genetic laboratory methods with 25 years of experience. She holds the Czech Medical Chamber Licence for the position of Head Physician and Chief Medical Officer in this field. She has contributed to a number of foreign and domestic publications and presentations. She is a member of the Society of Medical Genetics of the J. E. Purkyne Czech Medical Society (ČLS JEP) and the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG).
Petr Klempt graduated from the Faculty of Science of Charles University in Prague. During his studies, he worked in the laboratory as a researcher at the Faculty of Science of Charles University and later at the BIOCEV Institute. In 2017, he joined GeneTiCA s.r.o. as an application specialist in the Technical Support Department. After two years, he joined the project team of the Institute of Applied Biotechnologies, where he subsequently held the position of Executive Director. In 2021, he worked as a NGS specialist in a joint project of GeneTiCA & Institute of Applied Biotechnologies, where he participated in the development and implementation of procedures and technologies in diagnostic laboratories. He is currently the manager of the Genetic Laboratories at GNTlabs by GENNET. He has contributed to several scientific publications.
Martina Bittóová is head of the Molecular Genetic Laboratory at GNTlabs by GENNET. She graduated from the Faculty of Science of Comenius University in Bratislava – Molecular Biology and Genetics. In 2006, she obtained a specialised competence (certification) in examination methods in medical genetics and molecular genetics and, in 2011, was appointed forensic expert in the field of health, specialising in paternity tests by DNA analysis. She also completed the MBA Management programme – Healthcare. She has extensive experience from previous healthcare facilities and genetic laboratories. She deals with the management of operations in the laboratory, the implementation of new methods into practice and the performance and evaluation of diagnostic genetic tests to prevent genetic disorders. As a forensic expert, she performs patent genetic analyses – paternity tests and prepares expert opinions.
